A very special commission. This art deco inspired tambour door media cabinet was designed by Will and Holly Acland to reflect the clients love for the art, architecture and furniture of the Art Deco period. The 3 metre tambour door is made up of over 200 strips each with detailed marquetry and together making up an original beach scene designed by Holly. The tambour door slides perfectly around the cabinet when opened, putting the beautiful scene in motion. The structure of the sides of the cabinet are deliberately left open in order that the marquetry image can be viewed as it slides behind the sun and its rays.
This piece demonstrates craftsmanship at the very highest level. It was ambitious, technically challenging, designed by artists and made by one of the finest craftsmen.
Waters and Acland furniture is made, without compromise, in their Lake District workshops. Hand crafted, hand finished. Perfection in the making.
