More About This Wall Cabinet Project Online Project

In this tutorial, the wall cabinet project is made with a combination of hand tools and portable power tools, but all the finessing is completed with hand tools. This combination of fine hand skills and the skilled use of power tools forms the basis of much of what we do within the ‘pro workshop’ and furniture school.

After purchasing, you will be able to download your project files, including a link to the video tutorials where we will show you step by step how to make beautiful wall cabinet. This includes a separate tutorials specifically targeted at perfecting your dovetails, where we look at standard and mitred dovetails and make a simple bookend as a prelude to starting the wall cabinet.

Tool Requirements

As well as a good workbench setup, you’ll also need access to the following tools to be able to complete this project:

  • Hand planes, including block and bench plane
  • Chisel Set
  • Shooting Board
  • Combination Square or engineers square
  • Digital Calipers
  • Parallel clamps and a few F Clamps
  • Handsaw or Japanese Saw preferable
  • Router, access to a router table preferable
  • Bandsaw
  • Router Plane
  • A hand drill
  • You will need planed all round timber (PAR) so a Planer Thicknesser is preferable, but some timber yards will be able to supply. Please check with your supplier.
