We are so proud of what the Waters and Acland Furniture Workshop and School has become. From a small workshop on the outskirts of Kendal from which private commissions were undertaken to the magnificent workshop and International Furniture School based here on The Mill Yard in Staveley that it is today. It’s been such an exciting journey with twists and turns along the way but there has always been a clear goal. To explore the magnificent and stimulating world of fine craftsmanship and design. Whether this is through the making of fine stand alone or fitted pieces for our wonderful clients or through the teaching of our now world renowned furniture ‘Designer Maker’ course we are always determined to push for the very highest of standards. We are unashamedly demanding of both the craftsman in our professional workshop as well as the students who attend our courses. We strive for perfection and for those lucky enough to spend time with us here in our Lake District workshop the reasons for this are clear. Fine craftsmanship combined with thoughtful and highly resolved design really is what makes us tick. It’s what makes this place the special place that it is. And long may that continue.
