Whether you’re a complete beginner or have years of furniture making experience, we have a course for you. Ranging from 2 days to 4 weeks, our courses are designed to help you develop key woodworking skills, from tool preparation & sharpening to fine joinery techniques and furniture making projects.

Notes and short course highlights
- Our workshop and school is located in the beautiful Lake District National Park.
- The Mill Yard complex has a number of fine places to purchase food and drink during your time in the school.
- A range of accommodation is available in close proximity to the workshop and school.
- The projects undertaken have been designed by award-winning furniture designer Will Acland.
- Student numbers are limited to 5 in order to ensure every student gets the close attention they need.
- No previous experience is necessary for most of our short courses.
- Students take away all projects and test pieces created during the courses.
- All timber and consumables are included in the course fees.
- Small groups are welcome and bespoke courses can be arranged.
